But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret.
Matthew 6:6

Privacy Policy

This policy describes what Prayer Opens Doors collects when you request prayer or apply to become a prayer warrior, how that information is used, and who can see it. It applies to this website and to the emails sent from it.

What we collect

When you request prayer, we ask for your first name or nickname, your email address, and the prayer request itself. You may also share your state, denomination, industry, and employment status, and whether you would like to receive written encouragement — all of that is optional.

When you apply to become a prayer warrior, we ask for your name, email address, church affiliation, city and state, a short testimony, and your agreement to the Prayer Warrior Covenant. Preferred industries and denominational background are optional.

Prayer warriors and the administrator sign in with an email magic-link, which sets a session cookie so the site knows you are signed in. That is the only cookie this site sets. We do not run analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or any other tracking technology.

How we use it

We use your information only to operate the ministry: to route your prayer request to a volunteer, to send confirmation and encouragement emails, and to ask whether prayer should continue after 30 days. We never sell your information, and we never use it for marketing, of our own or anyone else’s.

A prayer request is seen only by the ministry administrator and the prayer warrior assigned to pray for it. There is no public directory, no searchable profile, and no way for a prayer warrior to contact you outside this ministry’s own systems.

Automated screening

Incoming prayer requests and the encouragement a prayer warrior drafts in reply are both screened by an automated system before a person sees them. Its purpose is narrow: to flag requests that may describe a crisis, such as thoughts of self-harm or abuse, so the administrator reviews them first, and to help the administrator sort and review outgoing encouragement. The automated system never sends a message and never closes or refers a request on its own — a human administrator makes every decision.

Retention and deletion

When a prayer request is closed, we keep it for 12 months and then delete it. You may ask us to delete your information sooner, at any time, by emailing hello@prayeropensdoors.com.

Crisis referrals

If a request appears to describe a crisis, the administrator reviews it personally, closes it to further prayer-warrior messaging, and replies with a compassionate note pointing to professional resources, including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741), and the SAMHSA National Helpline (1-800-662-4357). This ministry offers prayer and encouragement, not crisis intervention.

Email delivery

Emails are sent through a transactional email provider used solely to deliver our own messages to you — confirmations, encouragement, and renewal reminders. That provider does not use your address for any purpose of its own.
